Super Stu’s 7 Month Ampuversary!

Hi folks, Stewie here…

Can you all believe that it has been 7 months since my Mum and Dad gave me a whole new leash on Life!? Really, it’s been 7 months that I have been living the Hoppy life as a Tripawd! 7 months that I have been living a pain free life! How that time thing flys!!! We don’t take any of our days together for granted, evah!!! I Ruv them so much!

So here at the Allen Ranch it has been a pretty quiet, but no less adventurous month!!!
We have had the usual country living winter issues and then a few extra on top of the norm… water and power, one should never take them for granted!! There have been a few days that Mum and Dad had to carry water into the house, in order for me and my kitty siblings to drink and they had to work really hard in order for us to have temporary water until spring… keep your paws crossed for an early spring my Tripawd friends my Mum and Dad are going to need it!

I am still seeing my acupuncture person, Miss Leslie. I had a minor episode of that Phantom Limb thing happen last week, but it was over before we all knew it and my Mum came and gave me a really good rub down! I reaaaaaally Ruv those rub downs!!! My eyes roll back and I swear I drool!

Miss Leslie is pawforming her Ortho-Bionomy thing me! Oooooh soooo good!

So my Mum and Dad had another concert this month and as you all know I get to go to my Auntie’s house for the night and I get totally spoiled! I Ruv hanging out with my Aunty!!! Even her BooBoo >^..^< is being a lot nicer to me. She doesn’t stalk me so much, i think she kinda loves me… 😉

My Mum wrote a verse that she reads out during one of Dad’s songs called ‘’Feeling of Home” and she thought that she would share it with you guys ‘cause she thinks it is pretty applicable to everyone here…
It’s got to do with that whole time thing and i have to say I completely agree with the words on this one…

Let’s take that cup of Time my friends
And consider it always full!
Life is really too short
And sometimes that cup is way too small…
But If we Live and we Learn
And Love, Laugh and Play
Tomorrow doesn’t matter…
‘Cause It’s all about Today!”

Im sooooo proud of my pawrents!
“Allensong’s single “Eternal Soul” has reached #3 on the Canadian singer/songwriter charts.”
Check it out at AllenSongMusic You’ll love it!

Oh and guess what you guys…??!! It’s my Birthday on Valentine’s Day!!! Truly, i am turning 8 years old!!! My pawrents know that my birthday is in the month of February, they just weren’t sure exactly when, so why not pick Valentine’s Day?!!! 💝

And you know what this means right??? More Hedgie’s and Bully sticks!!! Yay!!!! More Celebrations!!!
🎉🎉🎉 🎈🎊🔔🔔🛎🍗🍗🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔
And you wouldn’t guess, but it’s Miss Lily’s 3rd Birthday next week!!! Even more celebrations!!!
😻😽🐟🐁🍗

Pick a toy… any toy!

We have already been receiving best wishes and it makes us feel so Ruved!!! 😘

You know, my Mum tells me that we Tripawds have pretty pawsome attitudes, but we also have a pretty sic’ sense of hooomer too right!! Right??!! 😉

So on that note my Tripawd friends, have a Pawsome month! And until my next Pawsitively Hoppy Update for my 8 Month Ampuversary… Ruv Ya!

Rots Of Ruvin’ from

Super Stu’s 6 Month Ampuversary!

Hoppy 2018 everyone!
I hope you all had as good a Christmas season as I had?! So much to tell…

“I got a new Hedgie for Christmas!”

HEDGIE’S… I GOT ANOTHER HEDGIE FOR CHRISTMAS YOU GUYS!!! He has the best squeak evah!!!And Cheezy biscuits that Dad doesn’t like! Hehehehe, he still touched them though, he Ruvs me that much!

I had a real Christmas dinner too!!! I had turkey and mashed potatoes, carrots and all if it smothered in gravy! I RUV Christmas! And I got a bully stick, oh how I Ruv my bully stick!!!

My brothers and sister had a great Christmas too… they got a new scratch toy with honey suckle infused catnip. They got a gazillion balls with bells inside, that they Ruv to chase around the kitchen.

AND…. we all got a NEW BROTHER!!!!🙀😻 Yes, That’s him at the end of the couch… I have to pretend to ignore him! Sheeeesh! He’s pretty hard to ignore you guys!

“I know Teddy’s there!”

His name is Ted, aka Tedwardo, Tedster, Tedmeister and Teddy Bear! He’s right stocky like and plays with Chester like a real fella.

I have to wait patiently while the catsssss get to romp and then I get my Hedgie time!!! Boy oh boy, can I evah rip the stuffing out of these fellas! My Aunty has a gazillion Hedgies to re-stuff for me. She tried making stuffed toys for me, but there’s nothin’ like the taste of a good Hedgehog! Otherwise my Mum is going to lay them all out in the woods for me to find… that could be fun too! The Hedgies get a taste of the real world… I get to hunt and they get to hide in the woods! Win, win right?!

“I’m watching for my Hedgies!”

What an exciting 6 months it’s been Tripawd friends. I have a new leash (oops, I mean lease!) on life and my Mum & Dad tell me how lucky they are that I am with them still! I mean, I’m here right… where else am I gonna go?! Sheeeesh, my pawrents think waaaaay too hard on the foooture! I don’t intend on going anywhere… my 8th Birthday is coming up in February and my pawrents have told me that we’re going to have a massive Pawty! I’m gonna get a Bully stick & a new Hedgie, I know I am… I can smell it now!!!

“Waiting for my Bully stick!”

Mum and I started off our new year with a day at the spa together. I get soooo relaxed when Miss Leslie puts her hands along my spine. After that she pokes me with her laser pen thing, which feels kinda neat. Miss Leslie says the pen is magic and gets rid of icky stuff inside my Y’organs! I then get to lay on my blanket that Mum brings in for me (‘cause the floors are slippery), while she gets her back and neck hole punched and then massaged. We’re both super sleepy after and Mum always jumps in the bath tub when we get home. She tells me it would make me feel good too, but I’m afraid we wouldn’t fit in the tub together!

“Waiting for my moment at the Spa!”

For now I get to romp in the snow and stick my head into snow banks and just generally have a bloomin’ Hoppy Life! Here’s to Hoppy days in 2018 my friends!!!

“Oh how I love the snow!”

Rots & Rots Of Ruv from Stewie and his Pride Of Kittens… and of course Petra & Paul

Super Stu’s 5 Month Ampuversary!

Hi folks, Stewie here again!

Here I am celebrating my 5 Month Ampuversary, well 5 months and 5 daze to be exact, and I swear, I’ve never been hoppier! (sorry I’m a bit late getting around to it… Mum is always doing something on her iPawd! Sheesh! What’s a dawg to do to get some attention around this nuthouse!)

Super Stu enjoying life to the fullest!

It’s been an eventful busy month, but Christmas is coming and I know that Mum has a hidden stash of mine somewhere, I can smell it!!! Maybe a new Hedgie?!!! I’ll letcha all know!

I got to go to our annual Remembrance Day service with my Mum & Dad and I got to sing some old war songs with lots of other people… once again, I was the star! I didn’t mean to take away from the importance of the people that have fought for our countries, but maybe I was a good distraction from any sadness.

One of the most exciting things that happened this month was when my Mum & Dad recorded another music CD! A really nice guy named Jordan, came to our home for 5 daze and I watched my pawrents sing their hearts out for hours and hours and hours!
I watched every minute of it, ‘cause I got lots of loving from Jordan. We even got to go outside at midnight so that Mum & Dad’s heads could be recorded for a video that will be put up on Much Music! It’s going to be groovin’ dudes!
Jordan was going to get some family pictures, but unfortunately we ran out of time. That’s okay though, ‘cause Mum takes Lots if pictures of me ALL the time! (it’s actually hard for a guy to have a snooze around here!!!

Midnight snooze on the couch!

I spent two relaxing sessions with Miss Leslie this month. She treated me with acoooopuncture which helps to wage war against those icky 💩C cells and my Ortho-Bionomy, which feels really weird at the time, but soooo good afterwards! Miss Leslie has really tasty treats for me afterwards too! Mum says those kind aren’t very good for me, but how bad can they really be, when the taste so yummy!?!

And you’d never guess what…? Mum came with me to my last treatment and had the same thing done on her! Of course she gets to lie up on the comfy table, I only get the hard floor. She gets real tiny needles in her, where I thankfully get the red pen looking thing that they call a lazer! Cool heh?!? She gets like an hours worth of Ortho treatment , where I only get a sucky 20! But Miss Leslie made up for it when I got the run of her office! I got to slobber over this patient guy, who said “He’s only got 3 legs!?” Sheeesh, you’d think that was obvious heh! And then he made fun of my scraggy tail! I wanted to nip at his ankles for that! I mean, it’s not my fault that someone shaved my tail off entirely years ago. I’m just lucky that it grew back or I’d be a Tail-less, paw-less Tripawd!!! I forgave the patient man ‘cause he gave me one of those yummy treats!
I really don’t mind that Mum gets a little better treatment, she is in a lot of Pain lately and Dad and I can only do so much for her! She says it’s nothing that she can’t handle, so we’re not to worry!

On the downer side….I had an accidental accident and I got confined to my living room for two weeks, ‘cuz I hurt my leg and neck when having a hoppy time at my bestest friends house! It felt really, really bad and I had to be put back on bedrest and have those nasty tasting medz! The only reason my Mum gets away with this stuff is because she gave me lots of extra tasty treats to make it all okay! After making me stay on my bedrest for two hole weeks! I was back to my normal hoppy, Hedgie loving self!

Super Stu not feeling so super! “But still smoochable in my new Tripawds bandanna right?!

Mum now has me booked every week for my special acooooopuncture and Ortho-Bionomy treatments, so that we can stay on top of my hoppiness! Both of us get a spa day together! I think her neck issues are just to make me feel like I’m not alone!!!

Tuckered out!

Unpawtunately my pawrents missed their annual Christmas trip to see their family because they were so worried about me. I kinda feel bad about it, but I kinda don’t, ‘cause I don’t get to go with them on such a long busy trip and would have to stay with my favourite person, Anne. Now don’t get me wrong I Ruv staying with her, but I Ruv my Mum & Dad more!

“I so ruv my Auntie!”

My Mum is a volunteer for a local group call P.A.L.S. (Protecting Animal Life Society) and she had fun working at the Annual Christmas Fair. She got me a big ring of dog biscuits… I also know that it is supposed to surprise me on Christmas morning, but my nose… oh my wonderful nose! The only reason I havent snuck a nibble is cause she keeps them in her bedroom and only the catsssss are allowed in there. I’ll be really mad if they nibble on my treats before I do!

Another thing my mum did this month for P.A.L.S. was to assist in the trapping & transportation of a stray cat to and from the vets for nootering. (poor fella, I totally sympathize! It doesn’t matter the species it’s about the principle and the pain!!) She had also organized for the Foster family, so when she got a call from said Foster family telling her that the cat was first trapped in the wall and then not to worry ‘cuz said cat had fallen through the ceiling, she and Dad made the immediate decision to bring the said cat home to our house!!!

Me and my Pack are slowly getting to know this very big fella. Mum & Dad call him Ted. He has paws the size of a Panda Bears so Mum calls him TeddyBear. Mum calls him a Foster, but she has said that he will more than likely be a failed Foster and I think my Mum is okay with that, even though she said that there would be absolutely no more cats in the house after Miss Lily, but this fella has a really big purrsonality and she said she can’t ignore him!
Now, I know I moved into a mad cattery when I found my furever family almost 3 years ago, but there was only 2 catsssss in the house… now there are 4! Count them you guys… Spitfire Spikey, Chester Molester, Prissy Miss Lily & now Foster Ted! I don’t even know if Ted likes me… he runs to his safe place when I hop on by! But I peaked around the corner last night when he was lovin’ my Mum & Dad and I have to admit, he’s a pretty Cool McCool!

We’ve had a couple of snowfalls this month, but nothing too serious, my Mum says it might not be a very white Christmas this year, but we still managed to get our 🎄 tree up in time!

I’m sorry once again that my Ampuversary blog is late, but I didn’t think any of you would mind.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HOPPY CHRISTMAS AND BEST WISHES FOR 2018!!!❤

Rots Of Ruv From Stewie and his Prideful Pack ❤

Happy Hoppy Christmas to you all!

Much Gratitude From Super Stu!

A very Hoppy Boy!

Stewie is now 4 months past his amputation and we are finished with any further major treatments.

Stewie’s entire Nakusp Veterinary Clinic Team; Dr. Bill Sones, Dr. Laurie Page, Jackie and Lori have had Stewie’s best interests at heart from the get go! They have ensured that the clinic has always been ready for our boy and have treated him so incredibly well! Even though Stewie may have grumbled a few times, he allowed them to do their job and that is a huge compliment to their skills and caring attitudes!

Super Stu’s Saviours!

We couldn’t be more grateful to our veterinarian team! From the very beginning of this journey, they have shown compassion, patience, perseverance and a whole lot of lovin’ for our Stewie boy!

Stewie has been a massive challenge for our small town vet clinic and they have overcome them all! Starting with a large, VERY FLUFFY dog that needed to be shaved, then an irritating Seroma, followed by multiple vein issues when trying to take blood, delays in chemo medicine delivery and through it all they kept pawsitive and moved things forward in way that Paul and I were always comfortable with.

Mum and Super Stu after his chemo session.

We are so very grateful to them for giving us this extra time with our boy! Every day that we get to spend with our super hoppy boy is a true gift, but not just that, he’s a true inspiration! He doesn’t look at life and say “I don’t think I can do that.” He looks and says “okay, let’s do it! I got this!” It’s hard to have a bad day with Stewie in our lives!

So a huge THANK YOU to everyone at The Nakusp Vet Clinic for working so hard getting Stewie to where he is today!!! We couldn’t be Hoppier!

Stewie would also like to thank all of his Tripawd friends for always being there, through our moments of Aaack attacks and our hours of joy!

With much gratitude! ❤❤❤

Stewie, Petra, Paul, Spike, Chester and Miss Lily.

Super Stu’s 4 Month Ampuversary!

Hi my Tripawd comrades!

I am here to celebrate my 4 Month Ampuversary! 🎉🎊🎈

I am living the life of a king! I have sooooo much to celebrate… not only have I been hopping on three legs for four months now, I also celebrated my 6th & FINAL CHEMOTHERAPY session on November 8th! I am soooo hoppy that is over and done with! I got lots of chicken treats, pepperoni, a bully stick and a new Hedgie!!!

Enjoying my presents at my Pawty!

Plus I had some of my wonderful Tripawds friends who rang some really cool bells to celebrate my end of treatment Pawty! Thanks Purrkins, Huckleberry, Rusty & Sally’s Alumni! The Bells! 🔔The Bells! 🔔They were enough to make me smile & cry!

Stewie’s End of Teatment Bell!

Plus I am a model in the Tripawds calendar #23! And so many of my Paw friends are in there too! Some of them are spirit friends, but I am so honoured to share the pages with all of them!
I can’t wait to get my copy. What with my fancy new Tripawds Bandanna that is on its way, there will be some great pictures for my 5 Month Ampuversary!!!

A Houndsome Hound!

My Mum & Dad had another concert this month and I got to spend the night at my Aunt Anne’s and I got spoiled rawtten! I get to do whatever I want when I’m there and whenever I grumble nicely she gives me treats!
Her kitty “Boo Boo” scares me though… she just sits right in my space and stares… glares and stares!!! She’s telling me to GET OUT I know it!! But I’m not allowed out by myself at Aunty’s!

For the first time Evah, I was dressed up for Halloween and you’d never guess what Mum dressed me up as… go ahead guess! I was kinda mad that she didn’t dress the cats in dog costumes!

“MEOWLED!”

So Snow has arrived!!! I was so Hoppeeeey! I couldn’t wait to go outside and play. Mum was all worried and scared that I was going to slip, but i did great! My big feet act like snow shoes and I stick close to the house when going off the deck, cause it’s less snow covered. Mum said she’s looking for chicken grit… I thought she said chicken💩!
I was even hoppy enough to go for a walk with Dad! He took me around so that I could sniff and roll and pee and sniff and pee and…

The only sad thing about winters arrival, is that I had to say goodbye to the Toaster for the season. See you in 8 months Toasty McBoaty!

Farewell Toasty McBoaty!

In the last month I have started my acupuncture and Ortho-Bionomy treatments! I feel like a pampered King when I go there! It feels soooooo good! Mum laughs ‘cause my eyes almost roll to the back of my head, it feels that good! It is helping me with my lungs and my liver and spleen. It’s helping to get rid of the flaky skin and I sleep for days! (Okay maybe not days…) but it really feels that good! I’d recommend it to any Hooman!

I have even been laying on my ‘stylin’ side more often lately. It feels so good to have a change of positions after so long and I know how to get myself up now!

Relaxin’ on my ‘stylin’ side!

I Ruv my family so very much and they are all so very Hoppy to have me with them!!! So until next time my friends please join me in more Hoppy Hopping and Hoppy Snow Days!

Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅🐾
& hugs from Petra, Paul, & his feline Feline, Mr. Spike, Chester McFiend & Miss Lily 🐾🐾🐾❤️

Hello to all you beautiful Tripawd & Bipawd Hero’s!!!

Stewie asked me to up date his list of what we’re his Top 10 Reasons For Wanting To Become A Tripawd! It has now grown and Stewie is shooting for the Top 💯 Tripawd List of Luxeries!

we have been getting some excellent additions and so the list Absalutely had to have its own blog! We Absalutely encourage any new suggestions, we will update as necessary…

Stewies List…

“Huckleberry” 🐈 adds…

🔸 Kitty tv, relaxation music, man cave covers, kitty visits, mama and papa visits.. you get the picture…😎

“Paka Tom’s” 🐈  suggestions…

🔸 New and improved bond” between babies and pawrents!

“Sally’s Allumni…” 🐕

🔸 Endless amount of Hedgies!

🔸 Hmmmm….how ’bout never hearing the word “no” again! Tipawds can get away with anything!

Here are some from “Rusty The Bunnyman” 🐈

🔸 Breakfast in bed (or wherever you may be lying at the moment)

🔸 Get to sleep wherever you want, even if it means you are in Mommy or Daddy’s spot on the bed.  The couch is comfy for them to sleep on, isn’t it?!

🔸 Scratching pads in every room!

🔸 Stairs to EVERYWHERE-your favorite chair, the window, each couch, Mommy and Daddy ‘s bed…

🔸 All the wet food and treats!

“Mona” 🐈 says…

🔸 that a tripawd should get 25% more attention, brushing, snacks, cuddles than the other pets who have 4 legs.

🔸 Mona also says that tripawds should go for chiropractic treatments at least once a month because they feel so good. She said cost should not factor into it. We have to negotiate this benefit.

🔸 Similar to Rusty’s stairs, Mona loves her banker’s boxes. Eli sleeps on them until he is caught by Mona who gives him a bonk because they are for her.

“Jerry’s Pack” 🐕  says not to forget this major bonus…!

🔸OOooh ooooh, how about… Tripawds don’t need to “heel” on the leash any more because it’s too hard to slow ’em down!

“Rufus” 🐕 additions to top 💯 list

🔸Rufus is loving to eat out of a regular bowl again instead of the slow feeder.

🔸He enjoys his water bowl being packed around the house so he doesn’t have to descend stairs. The day after chemo he gets the water bowl brought right to him.

🔸Rufus gets away with pooping and peeing on the grass. He’s supposed to go to the rocks along the boarder, but that might be too far – besides grass is way more comfy on the feet.

🔸Upgraded bed, food, supplements, and attention.

🔸Consistent treats.

🔸Additional praises for doing everyday things that never got any attention.

🔸Conversation staters to educate people how normal life on 3 really can be.

🔸Saving pawrents on everything since we weigh less, food, medicine, hotel fees, flea medicine, soap….

Thanks everyone for your suggestions… Lets keep it going Tripawd friends, this will make us all Hoppy for sure!!!

Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅🐾
& hugs from his adoring pack,
Petra, Paul, & his 🐈  siblings, Mr. Spike, Chester Molester and Miss Lily 🐾🐾🐾❤.

Super Stu’s 3 Month Ampuversary!

Hi folks, Stewie here again!!! I have just celebrated my 3 Month Ampuversary! That’s 3 months and I’m still going strong!💪 I have made my Mum & Dad so very very Hoppy!🎉

“Just hangin’ Mum!”

I know I’m a lot stronger now ‘cause I ran after my Dad on the UTV and i had a blast running like the wind! I haven’t been able to do that in forever!😁 I stay strong by resting really good & I am back eating my 3 meals a day. Dad says that he has noticed me sleeping better lately with less moving around at night. I don’t notice ‘cause I’m sleeping to heavy! 😴 😴
Boy am I ever good at begging for treats now! Mum says that I can’t ALWAYS HAVE TREATS! and I say WHY NOT?! She says that I have to lose wate?! (what is this wate thing?!🤔…) how can I lose something when I don’t know what it is that I’m looking for? 👀😋

It’s been a little quieter and cooler over the past month. But I’ve still had fun! I go to town every week with Mum and Dad and everybody I meet just loves me and I luuuuv the attention I get!🤗
Mum brought home 3 new hedgehogs for me over the last month! I Ruv the sound they make when I tickle them! But they run out of tickle, so Mum has to get me a new one ‘cause I Ruv them that much!😁😁😁

“Do you want to play with one of my Hedgies?!”

It’s a good thing that my coat is growing back in nicely and thank goodness for that! (there is no more scabbing left! No more itchy spots yay!👏) It went from really hot to really cool and we can start to see the snow coming down the mountain tops. It won’t be long before it gets to us! 🍂🍁🏔☃️🎄
Mum says that she’s worried for when winter comes ‘cause she’s worried about me slipping. But I just laugh and say no worries Mum. But truthfully I’m a little nervous, cause it can get pretty icy! I’ll have to hop VERY CAREFULLY!😬

“Look Ma! Only 3 Paws!”

Last week I went for my fourth round of Carboplatin chemotherapy… it went super well! I have had no complications with my blood work either, so we get the full shabang each time. (Let’s hope that keeps up for the next two sessions!) Dr. Laurie is very impressed with how long I can stay still! She must know that I do it for her ‘cause I really like her! She may prod and poke, but she always says she’s sorry and she gives me yummy treats after!🥓 I only have to get two more icky Chemo sessions done! 💉💉🤞

Me and my Mum & Dad and my favourite person Anne went on another boat-ride this week! I had so much fun! We even ate lunch on board! 👅 it was also very cool cause we saw a snow storm blow in. It rained on the lake and snowed on the mountain tops… 🏔 and the sun came out after! It was beautiful! We’re very lucky this year ‘cause the lake is staying up higher than usual for this time of year. Especially considering the very dry summer we had!

A Day out on Toasty McBoaty!

“Seriously?!”

A micro storm blowing through!

Ha! What storm!

Then today, Mum & Dad took me into town for my blood work and then let me walk downtown with them (my old stomping grounds!) and some of my old friends were there and they were all super hoppy to see me! I’m glad we got a picture to celebrate my 3 Month Ampuversary!

“My old stomping grounds and all the people that Ruv me!

I really am so very hoppy and all, but I’m sad too ‘cause I’ve heard some crappy news this last week from Mum, about some of my friends from Tripawds that I have come to know. I know I haven’t known many of you for long, but you hold a very special place in my heart! I say 💩 on this nasty stinking cancer!

So Until next time my friends… Stay strong and keep hopping hoppily along and most importantly, keep making your pawrents smile! 💞😊💖

“Ruv ❤️ You!”

Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅 🐕 🐾

under: Living the life of a Tripawd, Post-Surgery, Recovery

Hi again folks!
Phew! It’s been a couple of busy weeks for me and my pack… I’ve had a great time!

I have to start off by thanking Sally and her Alumni, Amy & Rusty & Jerry’s Pack for adding to my Top Reasons for wanting to become a Tripawd! The list went from Top 10 all the way up to 17! The challenge is still out there to make it to the Top 20!

“Life is good!”

Last weekend was the best… my Uncle Evan & Aunt Des came to visit and it was all about me! Even though I had seen my Uncle Evan within the last month, I can’t get enough of him… and my Aunt Des hasn’t been here since the spring so I REALLY enjoyed seeing her! They smothered me in kisses, they brushed me and gave me extra, extra treats! (ha! No wonder I gained extra weight at my weigh in last week!)

My Uncle & Aunt Ruv, Ruv, Ruv Me!

We all got to go for a boat ride on The Toaster and they took tons of pictures of me. I think I’m gonna be a movie star! I just Ruv my people so much!

Me and Uncle Ev goin’ for a ride!

A day out on The Toaster with my favourite people!

I even got to go on a road trip this past week. It was a long day, but I did really good surfing in the back of the truck. It’s one of my favourite things to do! My favourite person Anne came with us and we all had a really good day.

Then I got to go on another boat ride, with our friend Rod! I can’t believe I was lucky enough to go out twice in one week! I think people should visit more often! My Mum & Dad have made the docks a lot safer for me and I can walk the double planks with no problem at all! Mum laughs at me every time… I think my bum wiggles!

My Mum & Dad are rock stars (😆), so they get to travel to lots of different places, so that lots of people can come and listen to them sing my Dads songs. (Me & Chester are their biggest fans and would love to part of their stage show!)

Me & my brother, Chester Molester!!

When Mum & Dad go away, I get to go to my favourite persons house and we babysit each other! I stay over night and Anne really does spoil me rotten, I never want to leave! There is a black cat who lives there, her name is Cranky… it’s a very fitting name! I can’t understand why my pawrents love her so much, ’cause all she does is give me dirty looks and constantly taunts me with her walk by’s! I know better and avoid eye contact at all costs!

My favourite babysitter, with Dad

I even got some hugs and treats from Anne’s neighbours. At first they weren’t sure if my missing leg would scare them, but just one look at my hoppy face and they weren’t worried anymore! You see, Tripawds really do make people Hoppy!

So you wouldn’t believe how lucky I was yesterday, not only did I have a great babysitting night with my favourite person, but she also came on a boat ride with us the next day! Three rides in The Toaster in two weeks! How much fun is that?! I’m glad my pawrents realize that I am now feeling all better again!

So in my last blog, (Top 10 Reasons…) I told you about my Raskety Rats that I killed… well this week, as me & my Mum were standing on the deck, we saw a young bear come out of the woods. Right into our front yard! What a nerve! Well, I was going to run that bear right off our property, but Mum spoiled my fun!!! She made me stay and even though I kept winging at her, she wouldn’t let me protect my house from that big black monster! My Mum thinks she did a good job of imitating my loud bark and even though that bear ran off, I nearly laughed at her imitation! That bear must have been really young ’cause a big wise one would’ve laughed at her!

I made my Mum proud at the Dr.’s last week… They had a super hard time trying to find my veins again for blood work and I was very, very, very good… (even if I do say so myself!) They couldn’t draw blood out of my front or back leg and decided it would be best (best for who?!) if they took blood from my jugular vein!!! Aaaaack!
They want to keep my other back leg for the Chemo next week and so a horrid sheath of leather went over my big nose, Dr. Laurie was the traitor who held my head back, while Dr. Bill did the nasty deed. And this was after I took them a nice tasty lunch as a token of appreciation for all their hard work! Sheeeeesh! You can’t trust anyone! I mean, what does it take to bribe someone these days?!😉
Thankfully my numbers came back normal enough and so we will go ahead with the regular amount of Carboplatin, when it arrives after been on back order, sometime next week! One way or another, we’ll kick this Cancers’ butt! In the meantime, my veins get a little rest before the next lot!

“I am so relaxed!”

It has been literally, Smokin’ Hot here in British Columbia, since the beginning of July! We are all very, very tired of the heat and the smoke in the air. Our province has been under a State of emergency, due to the all the wild fires, for a couple of months now and there is no relief in sight. My pawrents are worried cause everything is SO DRY and anything could set off a forest fire. We have to be thinking about all the food and water my brothers and sister would need, if we were to be evacuated… I sure hope they don’t forget the tin of treats! I’ll make sure I remind them!

So until next time, keep grinning your goofy grins and keep those humans hoppy!

Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅🐾

In case some of you don’t know me, my name is Stewie. (aka Super Stu, or Stewart! Especially when my Mum is mad!) I am 7 years old and my Mum tells me that I’m a big boy! I have to step onto that big black table on the floor at the doctors office and the numbers tell them that I weigh 49.9kg (110lbs)! Is this why they tell me I’m not very good at being a lap dog?!

“I’m all played out!”

My Mum & Dad tell me my original pack were a mix of Bernese Mountain Dog, Rottweiler and Retriever. Everybody tells me I’m terribly handsome and I have to agree with them!

I can’t remember too much about the whole ordeal, but my Pawrents tell me that I have OSC and that they needed to take my front left leg off, so that I wouldn’t have that horrid pain anymore. I’m glad they did, ’cause it feels much better now. I look even more handsome now, because I’m not frowning in pain anymore!

The big drag about this OSC cancer thing, is that I have to get poked every other week, so that they can take my blood out of me and then put some horrid poison stuff back in! Apparently it is supposed to kill off those nasty cancer cells, so I guess I’ll put up with the poking, if it means that I can spend more quality time with my Mum & Dad! I Ruv, Ruv, Ruv them so much! I’ll just take it out on Hedgehog, I Ruv to hear him Squeak!

I am now six weeks without my front leg and I feel great! (Other than the horrid pokey time, then I feel kinda tired and I don’t eat much for a couple of days.) I know my Pawrents have had a really rough time, even though I have tried to be an excellent patient and listen when my Mum tells me not to lick. I know that I’ve done good, ’cause all that horrible extra fluid is all gone and my new tattoo (that’s what I call my cool looking scar!) is hardly noticeable under my new fur that growing back.

I wanted to do something special for my pawrents and so I came up with the “Top 10 Reasons Why A Dog Should Become A Super Tripawd!” I figured this should make them smile…

🐾Treats& More Treats!
🐾Only Three Feet to Trim Nails For & only 1 dewclaw!
🐾Tons & Tons Of Belly Rubs
🐾Short walks on lazy days (that’s most days…!)
🐾Priority over my feline brothers & sister! Ha!
🐾Comfy, Padded Harness
🐾Special place of honour in the living room
🐾Air conditioned shave down for hot summer days showing a new stylin’ hair cut!
🐾We make people “Super Hoppy” when they see us!
🐾Most importantly, you become a superstar with your own Tripawds website and blog!

Here are another couple of reasons from Sally & her wonderful alumni… Thank you Sally!😘

*Edited*  “I think you can add a #11: A Tripawd never hears the word “NO” anymore! They can get away with anything, anytime! That means you won’t be called STEWART anymore because your human can never get mad!! 🙂

There is also a #12: Super Stu now has his very own massive SUPER STU FAN CLUB!!! Everyone in your Tripawds family is cheering for you and we are all in your Fan Club! 🙂”        👍👏❤

Rusty & Amy have added #13-#16. Excellent Suggestions Rusty, I can’t believe I forgot these… we may have to revise up to the Top 30!!!

*Edited* Rusty has a few items for the Top 20 list –
#13 Bathtime is shorter! Less shampoo + less scrubbing + less rinsing + less drying time = faster turnaround to treats!

#14 Physical Therapy and daily hops! PT is really just code for more treats and daily hops around the neighborhood are so much fun!

#15 Sneak attacks – Tripawds may look like they are harmless but they are not. (Isn’t that right Stewie’s hedgehog?)

#16 Ampuversaries! Celebrating special days with cake and ice cream and party hats – what’s better than that?

Mister Rusty is still over there yammering on about why Tripawds are the best but I told him we need to let someone else get a turn at the list!” 👍👏❤

*Edited* Jerry’s Pack made an excellent addition…

#17 “Oh and one more to add: One less muddy paw to clean during mud season!”

*Edited* Sally & Alumni have added another genius reason… Thanks Sally! 😆👏

#18 “Its All About Super Stu!!!”

#19 “New and Imoroved Bond Between Fur Babies and Pawrents!” (Thanks Paka Tom!)

#20 “An Endless Amount of Hedgies!” (Thankth Thally!)

Yay we made it to the Top 20… let’s keep it going!

We’re now shooting for the Top 💯 list!

——————————————–

Here are some pictures of me and my awesome people that I spent time with this week… I even got to go on another boat ride on The Toaster! I’m such a lucky fella!

“Me & My People on The Toaster!”

A beautiful day out on Toasty McBoaty

I’m glad my Mum let me write this weeks blog, I was going to nibble ather ankles if she forgot again! Thanks for letting me entertain you, I really enjoy this blog thing… A huge thank you as well to all of the tripawds community, you make my Mum feel really good and she gives me lots of smooches and kisses and soft murmured words after she has finished tapping her little Pad thing with you all…

oh…! I almost forgot to tell you… I caught two Raskety Rats this week! Those Raskety Rodents are always trying to move in at this time of year! My Mum calls them Pack Rats and she says they are kinda cute in a Mickey Mouse sort of way! But I say get rid of them… they smell awful and they’re hoarders! It’s a good thing Hedgegog lets me practice my skills on him, phew! It was exciting, but exhausting work! Who said 3 legs was a disability?!

So until next time, Paws up and keep wagging!
Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅🐾

Stewie and his feline furmily

under: Living the life of a Tripawd, Post-Surgery

Feeling like his old self again!

So here we are into Stewie’s fifth week and what a great week it’s been!

The fact that it has been a pretty uneventful week is fantastic!

Last Tuesday, Stewie went in for his blood work, to check on the level of his white blood cells. (the information is a little bit over my head…) Essentially, if there was a major change, we would have to knock back the amount of Carboplatin he will get tomorrow. (Tuesday) His numbers came back the same, so we are going ahead with the full dose tomorrow, being his 2nd round. I’m hoping for minimal side effects, if any, like the last dose.

Most importantly, Stewie was more back to himself this week… He played with his Hedgehog, scrunched his squeaky toys and even had a short game of Tug of War with Dad! Here’s the video below.

It has been a good week in regards to Stewie’s eating habits too. He doesn’t tend to want breakfast anymore, but he hops happily over to eat his lunch & supper. He is quite happy really, because he gets an additional scoop of canned dog food on top of his boring old (good for you) kibble now!

Stewie’s surgical site is healing really well. 1/2 of the scrabbing has come off and the area where he was licking is much improved, especially as his fur gets longer.

I think the best part of the week for me though, was when I arrived home from a day long road trip to the big city. Stewie came running excitedly up the driveway to greet me! That is something we haven’t seen in at least 2 months! How bloody lovely it was to see my boy acting  like his old self assured, handsome buggar that he is!

“I can hear those Squirrels!”

So until next week, keep happily hopping around and all the best to everyone.

Sloppy kisses from Super Stu🐾, Mum, Dad & his feline pack,

Sr. Spike🐾 Chester Molester🐾 & Miss Lily🐾

p.s. Stewie was sulking when he found out that I wrote his blog this week! 😏 I forgot that I had promised him that it would be his turn again! He won’t let me get away with that one again!
